Suicide. What more needs to be said? Created to portray the empty, cold, lonely, and alone.
I had an epiphany after completing this commissioned work. Suicide in bathtubs.....why? The warm water....the enclosed circular shape. I suppose if one were to slit their wrists while submerged in the water it may not be quite as painful if the blade were sharp enough and the water warm enough.
But what came to my mind was....the warm water and the tub. Representative of the womb. We want to go back. Back to mother. To start again. Maybe try again, from scratch. Complete the circle, starting in the fluid, and ending in the fluid. Anyway, it's just a theory.
Suicide may be harmful or fatal. Do not try this at home.
